Puigcerdà

Founded in 1177, the town of Puigcerdá is located at the height of 1.200 meters, on the top of a mountain that looks over Cerdanya of which it is the capital. It is surrounded by mountains of up to 3.000 meters high and there are 10 Catalan, French and Andorran ski resorts in reach within a radio of 50km. Popular festivals, such as the Lago and Roser festivals (the latter being a “fiesta mayor” - a major town festival), are the most important of the area and are a great tourist attraction. As well being an important commercial area, the Villa offers other interesting places such as the Lake, the Church Tower, the Sant Domènec Church and Sports Club.
